Movie: American Reunion (2012)
As a fan of the American Pie franchise, American Reunion delivers all that we loved about the series and ends it with a nice bow to wrap things up rather neatly. The whole cast is back and they all get their time on screen to do what they do best and make is laugh. Full of raunchy humor about sex, shit, and life it doesn’t fail to make us laugh. The first part brings them all back with silly antics and gross pranks, the second gets them in trouble as always, and the last teaches them all something and end its it with everything tied together. This one was by far my favorite of the series because it has everything from the previous ones plus more in one awesome ending to a great series. I like how you can watch all four and it’s sort of a phases of life thing with important life lessons along with the raunchy humor we all love. They definitely saved the best piece of the pie for last
I’ve made a decision. From now on I’ll fully review movies that range from really liked to loved. Anything else gets a brief review. I only liked Battleship and because of that it was tedious to write. If I really liked it or loved it then it would be fun to do. So it is written so it shall be done.
Movie: Battleship (2012)
Battleship was an entertaining summer movie that is meant to give you a thrill ride on a large scale and it does it well enough. It has explosions and somehow aliens wearing Iron Man suits that come for some reason and the humans must defend their territory. Oh yeah and battleships, of course. The story is loose and the reason given for the aliens appearance is weak and reaching for something that barely holds. The acting was not that good, especially Rihanna who needs work on it if she wants to continue acting or should stick to singing about sex. The films only notable actor, Liam Neeson, has nothing more than a minor role akin to a cameo. It’s use of CGI is great but extensive to the point where more than half of the movie is computer generated but I’m a fan of well done CGI which Battleship has. The movie is mostly explosions and action and anything else in there was thrown in to make it somewhat of a movie that doesn’t rely solely on action which it still does. If you’re a fan of big action sequences this is for you but don’t expect anything else. Go watch it with the thought that it will be nothing more than a thrill ride meant to entertain you and it is entertaining with the alien tech and battleships firing all of its weapons at an alien ship that sort of hops using a weird flying floating motion. Expect anything more and you will be sorely disappointed. What did you expect from a movie based off of a board game that has no characters or plot? Personally I liked it for its action and CGI.
The Spurs are smacking OKC right now! San Antonio is on a streak that just seems undefeatable. Their offense is on point spreading points across their players and the defense is doing well against OKC`s offense limiting their shots to Durant, Westbrook, and Harden who carry all of their points. San Antonio’s experience is dominating OKC`s young drive. Let’s see what happens on the 4th.
Damn Miami has home court advantage and Boston has lost their groove so this one goes to the Heat. Boston NEEDS to win game 2 which is again at Miami or else they’re going to be down two games and a slim chance of coming back. Why did it start at Miami? Why? Boston has just lost their groove and hope they can get it back by game 2.
Just got back from work and now watching NASCAR seriously for the first time. Watching the Indy 500 and now the Sprint Cup I have new found respect for the oval. The immense concentration needed to drive 100 - 200 MPH plus and not loose a lot of momentum while trying to pass and conserve tires and gas. It really is a battle of mental and physical stamina and strength.
Man that was a brutal crash leading up from a bad pit stop. I’m actually very impressed with the engineering and tech of these cars because that was a crash at plus 100 MPH at least and the drivers walked away without any major injuries. These cars at the Indy 500 are amazing. These safety technologies should be coming to commercial cars very soon hopefully.
San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat for the West and East Conference Finals. Three of my favorite teams are in there. : ) I want Boston to beat Miami but the Spurs vs OKC I’m torn. Overall I’m completely torn. Aghhh!!! An old, experienced team match up in the finals would be awesome but I also want OKC to get one as a young team. Damn this years finals are exciting.
